2013 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG [cardvd-player.net]

Mercedes-Benz sells seven different models of its main S-Class sedan in the United States. Look beyond the entry level S400 Hybrid (base price $ 93,000) and the standard V8 engine S550 models. The door to the height of four – crush the amazing S63 AMG ($ 140,000) and 12-cylinder S600 ($ 160,300), once you walk in them – is the border-in-nonsense biturbo twelve-cylinder S65 AMG seen here .
“Excessive” is an understatement, as the S65 AMG leaves little to be desired. Hidden in the front is a hand-assembled 6.0-liter 60-degree V12, force fed air by fans twins develop 621 horsepower and 738 pound feet of torque. All hallucinatory power is sent through a rugged five-speed automatic to the rear wheels, which seems pretty undeniable weight of the brake sedan £ 5082 – a four-door will break the barrier of reference 60 mph in 4.2 seconds and pull up to a top speed electronically limited to 186 mph.
Very few will have the opportunity to see a S65 AMG in the flesh, let alone spend an hour alone with one, so I took the chance. Update of standard equipment, this car was concrete evidence even scarcer as “Designo” model, with unique matte paint, custom leather masks smooth and glossy piano black finish. Prices, as they say, is available upon request.
Driving NotesDespite its omnipotence, the S65 is very discreet and almost indistinguishable from their siblings. The observers will notice the “V12 Biturbo” badging on each front quarter panel and the “S65″ in the rear hood. Those with good eyes will capture the very small difference in the horizontal slats of the grille on the S65 (three double parallel slats, spent four thick bars). Most all other sports cosmetic improvements are shared with the S63 AMG.It is impossible to defeat the traction control on the S65 AMG, ie burnouts miles long is not going to happen. While the line acceleration was dazzling, the real fun went above 50 mph when the explosive power below the hood reel to its full potential (it is a pleasure to see the traction control light flashing at highway speeds ). A run from coast to coast at 150 mph would be illegal cheerful and easy, but I do not want to pay the fuel bill (or pay the fines).Naturally, the S65 will not feel as nimble as small sedans, but its active suspension was more than competent through each series of curves I threw on. There is no way around two tons of pasta, but the aggressive tire package staggered (275/35ZR20 and 255/35ZR20) provided plenty of grip at the limit. The single twin sliding caliper brakes mounted on the perforated effort bled speed rotors with very good pedal feel. This is a very large luxury sedan and comfortable, but it’s still fun to drive – to my surprise. Those who could not care less brightness S65 mechanics will find much to soothe their souls inside the cabin, as the opulence of a standard S-Class sedan rose full circle on the screen. Leather seating is flexible sewn, quilted and perforated (also heated and cooled) and the molding is polished to a mirror finish. Passengers in the second row is crossing legroom, food banks and video entertainment. The cabin smells even better than it looks. I can not wait to see how the next S-Class looks and feels inside. As fabulous as the S65 AMG is the enthusiast in me still prefers the S63 AMG. Its twin-turbo V8, which shows almost no turbo lag, is better suited to our congested stop-and-go and restrictive speed limits in North America. It’s a little lighter, almost as luxurious, and it only takes a split second in the sprint to 60 mph. Plus, I can buy a new C63 AMG with the money they save.
