Hyundai willing to settle MPG cases, offering lump sum payout to buyers [cardvd-player.net]

There has been a large amount of precipitation from the fuel economy numbers exaggerated both Hyundai and Kia said. The two companies are giving a lot of money to affected customers in the form of debit cards, and EPA could change the way that works with automakers on fuel economy labels. Some buyers of Hyundai / Kia, however, wanted more than an apology and a refund, so filed a series of lawsuits. Thirty-eight years, in fact, they were combined into one large case in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles. Hyundai is reportedly saying that he is willing to settle, and Kia is deciding whether to participate. Both automakers declined to comment.
The presentation details are not revealed all, unfortunately, so do not know how much to pay Hyundai (one of the original costumes said that buyers were due to total 775 million dollars), but Automotive News says that buyers can still get a refund through debit cards or take a lump sum through the class action. No double dip, folks. Earlier reports said that the shares were trying to overcome buyers grants and loans, but there is no mention of this in the news this week.
Between Hyundai and Kia, about 900,000 vehicles were sold in the U.S. MPG with incorrect numbers on the window sticker. Before mpg exaggerated figures were revealed at the end of 2012, Hyundai was the target of a class action lawsuit about the numbers mpg Elantra.
