Toyota recalling 11,200 Scion iQ models over faulty passenger sensors [cardvd-player.net]

Toyota has announced a voluntary recall of 11,200 Scion iQ models of the 2012 and 2013 model years. According to the manufacturer, the problem with these pint sized hatchbacks refers to the system of passenger occupant classification (OCS) weight sensor cable.
OCS sensors in the front passenger seat to control the operation of the elements like airbags and seat belt pretensioners. Concerned in these models, the lines of these sensors in the seat rail as willing damaged front passenger seat slides forward and backward to be. And if the cable is damaged, airbags and seat belt pretensioners may not function properly.
No injuries or accidents reported related to this issue.
Toyota says that the owner will be notified by mail beginning in early December, when the vehicles are repaired – for free – at the dealership. The automaker has also confirmed that this recall affects only vehicles in the United States, and no other Toyota, Lexus or Scion products are involved.
