Jeep adds 137,000 Liberty models to previous recall [www.cardvd-player.net]

Chrysler has included an additional 137,000 vehicles in a previous Jeep Liberty recall, upping the entire quantity of units covered to 356,900. The campaign initially included 2004 and 2005 Liberty models, but has been expanded to add units from model years 2006 and 2007 likewise. The campaign is targeted at vehicles sold or registered in States using a high possibility of rust, the spot that the rear lower control arms may corrode at an accelerated rate and fracture. A real failure could potentially cause a loss of control, which could cause a car accident.
In accordance with CNN Money, Jeep maintains there have been no reports of accidents or injuries, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened an investigation in to the failures last April after receiving nine reports of control arm fractures.
Chrysler will replace the control arms cost-free, and those owners with already had the constituents replaced will be reimbursed.News Source: CNN Money
