Kia Red Rock Special Edition Soul joins lineup

Kia has added another Soul special edition to its lineup, inspired by the rock formations in the southwest United States. It gets a unique exterior color called canyon, while the interior gets its own styling as well.

The Red Rock Special Edition was introduced at the 2011 New York auto show, and then toured the United States to gauge customer demand. The production model, which is available now, sets itself apart with the paint job and high-gloss black front fascia and mirror housings.

On the inside, the Red Rock Soul gets black leather trim and brown cloth seats. Automatic temperature control is standard, as are heated seats.

The Red Rock Soul uses the same 1.6-liter, direct-injection four-cylinder engine making 138 hp while returning 35 mpg on the highway. Later this year, Kia will begin selling Souls with a stop/start system to save more fuel.

The Kia Red Rock Special Edition Soul starts at $21,350 including a $750 destination charge.
